History and Goals of the NCCCRC

The Northern California Curly-Coated Retriever Club was licensed by the American Kennel Club in 2010, but our founding members were active in California for many years prior to that. The NCCCRC is the first, and currently only, regional Curly club in the United States to be licensed by the AKC to hold conformation, obedience and rally events.

The members of the Northern California Curly-Coated Retriever Club:

~ Encourage and promote the appreciation of pure-bred Curlies in an
effort to bring their natual qualities to perfection.

~ Uphold the standard of breed excellence as approved by the American
Kennel Club.

~ Protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging
sportsman-like competition at dog shows, obedience trials, and field events.

~ Conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows & obedience trials
under the rules of the American Kennel Club, and field events under the
rules of the Curly-Coated Retriever Club of America.

~ Make every effort to successfully place physically and mentally
healthy Curlies in need of a home.
